Client Information

Please reach us at info@cancercareforpets.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Referrals can be initiated through your primary care veterinarian or via self-referral. In either case, we will require your pet’s complete clinical history and laboratory reports. Please be advised that you must provide consent for your primary care practice to share this information with us.

Once we receive a referral request, a member of our team will contact you directly to schedule an initial appointment with one of our oncologists. We will work with you to find a convenient time and, where possible, coordinate diagnostic procedures or treatments on the same day, subject to the outcome of your consultation with your vet.

Our aim is to contact all new referrals within 24 hours of receiving the request. We aim to offer an appointment within a maximum of three weeks from the initial contact; however, most referrals are scheduled within two weeks.

During busy periods, we will inform our referring practices to keep you updated.

All our consultations are by appointment only.

Initial referral consultations with one of our oncologists are £277. This includes pre-consultation case review, 45 minute consultation with a patient check up and a summary report sent to both the owner and first opinion practice.

Below are our current service charges (charges will be confirmed prior to any agreement to proceed):

Consultation                                 £277

Re-examine                                   £92.43

CT Scans from                              £2,400

Electrochemotherapy from        £2,150 per session

Due to the various potential options and combinations of both chemotherapy and surgical procedures, we are unable to provide an estimated price prior to reviewing your pet’s clinical history. A more accurate estimate will require an examination of your pet and a discussion of all available treatment options. We will do our best to offer a preliminary estimate of potential diagnostics and treatments when booking your initial appointment.

Following your consultation, we will provide full, itemised, written estimates for any suitable treatment options for your pet.

We understand that this is a stressful time for you and your family, so wherever possible we will try and claim fees directly from your insurance company. This means you do not have to worry about submitting the correct paperwork for reimbursement to yourselves. We will still provide you with estimates and a copy of all invoices at each treatment.

We will ask that you sign a direct claim insurance consent form at your visit, explaining our claim process and that if for any reason your insurance company does not pay all or part of your claim, you will need to settle invoices with us directly.

We charge the same fees and costs regardless of whether we claim invoices directly from your insurance company or whether you settle your account with us and claim invoice payments back to yourselves.

What we need from you:

· A copy of your pet’s current insurance certificate

· A fully completed and signed claim form OR claim information if your company process claims online

· You to ring your insurance company and give them permission to speak to us regarding your pet’s claims. This is a GDPR issue, and they will not be able to give us any of claim details without your consent, which can delay the claim process.

Maintaining a positive cash flow is vital to any business, and as such we are only able to give your insurance company a maximum of 12 weeks to notify us of intent to settle a claim. Unfortunately, after this time, we will ask you to pay any outstanding invoices to us and for you to pursue settlement against your insurance policy.
